Allergy and sensitivities are common conditions in modern society. According to CDC statistics released in 2013, food allergy affects 1 in every 13
children (under 18 years of age) in the U.S and the rate increased approximately 50% between 1997 and 2011. Allergy and sensitivities can be
deadly and also related to more server conditions such as autism spectrum disorders because most of autistic children show some degree of allergy
and sensitivities. Although the cause of these conditions is still unknown, many recent studies have pointed to the malfunction of neuroendocrine
control of the immune functions. This lecture reviews most recent biomedical studies and introduces holistic viewpoint for allergy and sensitivities.
The lecture also discusses integrative approach to these conditions with various natural modalities such as Chinese medicine, homeopathy, allergy
desensitization, nutritional supplementation and dietary changes.

Press Release: ATOM Doctoral Program Achieves Candidacy StatusMar 04 2015

We are very pleased to announce that the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) has granted Candidacy status to the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine’s DAOM program.

 This means that ATOM now has the remaining documentation required by the US Department of Education to offer Title IV student financial aid to help eligible DAOM students finance the costs of their doctoral education.  Accordingly, ATOM will be offering financial aid to eligible DAOM students enrolling in April 2015 at the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine, 100 East Broward Boulevard, Suite 100, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301.

Financial Aid applications are being accepted now for the April class.  To apply and confirm your qualifications, go to and enter our school code G34296.
