Governance
The Institute is owned and governed by a tax-exempt not-for-profit corporation whose legal name is the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine. The school and corporation share the same address, 100 East Broward Blvd., Suite 100, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301-3510. The corporation's current officers are: Chair, Michael L. Marshall, D.C., A.P.; Vice-Chair, James Heinrich, B.S.; Secretary, Aidan Y. Chiu, M.D. (China) CA and Treasurer, Gerard D. Grau, M.D. All four can be reached at the school's address. The names of all current Board members follow, and their addresses are on file with the Florida Department of State. The board members bring diverse intellectual and cultural perspectives to the Institute.
ATOM Board of Directors
To promote the delivery of healthcare in the United States fully recognizing the complementary functions of Traditional Chinese Medicine/Oriental Medicine and Contemporary Western Medicine. To meet the requirements of the Florida Board of Acupuncture and the National Commission for Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) including the ability to pass the State and national acupuncture and herbal certification examinations. To demonstrate the commitment to Traditional Oriental Medicine by participating in professional continuing education as a lifelong learning process.
